Education

Dr. Rosalie (Rose) Brao, DDS, MS grew up in Orlando, Florida and made southwest Florida her home in 2020. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida (UF), double majoring in Chemistry and Zoology, and minoring in Health Sciences. She then moved west to obtain her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of California, San Francisco, graduating with honors. Throughout dental school, Dr. Rose held several local and national leadership roles that focused on providing access to higher education to Bay Area students from all walks of life. She also enjoyed volunteering at the soup kitchen and dental clinics to support her local community. She received numerous awards and recognitions for her leadership, community, and academic achievements, including the Delta Dental Scholarship award for “Scholastic Ability and Dedication to Dentistry”, the Milton and Mary Gabbs Award for “Highest Moral, Ethical and Professional Achievement”, and the International College of Dentists Leadership Award. Dr. Rose graduated at the top of her class and was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental honor society and selected as the Pierre Fauchard Academy Fellow.

After the completion of dental school, Dr. Rose practiced as a general dentist in Northern California for several years. She returned back to UF to complete a 3-year orthodontic residency program and earn a Certificate in Orthodontics and a Master of Science degree in Dental Sciences. As part of the program, Dr. Rose wrote, defended, and presented a thesis that explored a novel Botox conjugate for orofacial pain. She presented her work and was selected as a Research Scholar by the American Association of Orthodontics(AAO). She is a published author in Nature Neuroscience, the Journal of Clinical and Translational Research, Molecular Genetics & Genomic Medicine, and the Journal of Comparative Physiology. At the culmination of her residency program, Dr. Rose was selected as the Resident Champion for the AAO and was a finalist for the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics Student of the Year award.

Family and Community

My husband, Alex, and I are college sweethearts! He is also a dentist who practices in Naples, where we live with our family. We have two spunky children, Stella and Matias, who keep us on our toes. We thought it was a good idea to throw a Lagotto Romagnolo puppy into the mix and she has brought us so much FUN! Dr. Rose loves to make memories with her family and friends, spending time on the water, and cheering on the Florida Gators. She also loves baking, trying to eat her way through SWFL restaurants, hosting dinner parties, and pretending she can play tennis!

She gives back to the community as a volunteer dentist at the Neighborhood Health Clinic and teaches orthodontics to pediatric dentistry residents at the University of Florida Department of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Rose enjoys making a difference in peoples’ lives and is grateful for the opportunity to give back to the community she calls home!

“Michèle is one of the most kind-hearted and generous people I have ever met. She finds the good in every person and works tirelessly to give back to the community she loves. She has an incredible reputation for providing beautiful smiles and exceptional experiences for her patients. I am extremely humbled to be a part of her practice.”
